Kitaigorodskaya School, a privately owned educational firm, has been successfully operating in Moscow since 1989. Kitaigorodskaya School has trained thousands of individuals and employees of different companies. The annual flow of students is steadily growing. The School has gained international popularity and prestige.

People of any age group and occupation can be students at Kitaigorodskaya School. The School offers accelerated courses in English (British and American), German, French and Italian at five levels from beginning to upper intermediate, including business language courses. A standard class is 12 students, but the number can change from 6 to 16. The duration of each course varies from 100 to 150 academic hours, with three classes per week, five academic hours each class. Upon completion of the course students are awarded Certificates of Attendance.

The system of testing includes entrance placement test, multiple progress tests, and final achievement test. Patented textbooks and audiocassettes developed by the Center's or the School's instructors are used during training.

The School also offers an opportunity to continue language education in the cooperating schools of England, U.S.A. and other countries.

The activities of the Center and the School are mainly aimed at further development of Kitaigorodskaya Method, its researchers and instructors being involved with experiments and research in the field of foreign language teaching, teacher training and material development.

Our basic activities include:

• Short-term courses of foreign languages: English (British and American), French, German, Italian, Russian as a foreign language. Levels: from beginning to upper intermediate. Morning and evening classes, 3 to 5 classes per week. Custom-made courses for special purposes.
• Teacher training for foreign language teachers includes lectures and workshops on methodology and psychology of teaching foreign languages using Kitaigorodskaya Method. Certificate is awarded at completion. On request both teacher-training and language courses can be arranged at the customer's premises.
• Development and publication of all kinds of teaching materials: textbooks, cassettes, visual aids, methodological brochures, songbooks, etc. All courses conducted at the Center use patented textbooks.
• Research in the field of methodology and psychology.
• Foreign languages and personality development classes for children.

The Center for Intensive Foreign Language Instruction and Kitaigorodskaya School both employ highly qualified and experienced instructors who apply up-to-date teaching techniques based on advancements in the fields of linguistics, methodology, psychology, and sociology, all incorporated in Kitaigorodskaya Method.

All teachers working in the Center and the School are graduates of Moscow universities. They all have demonstrated excellent performance in Dr. Kitaigorodskaya teacher training courses. Most of the instructors have more than once taken probation or research trips to universities overseas. All teachers of Russian as a foreign language have a good command of one or two foreign languages. Using Kitaigorodskaya Method implies profound knowledge of methodology and psychology of foreign language teaching. It requires a certain personality of a teacher: high intellectual and emotional level, creativity, artistry. Besides, the School instructors are apt to constant self-improvement and hard work. They are brilliant teachers, creative researchers and enthusiastic members of the team.

The instructors of the Center are full-time faculty members of Moscow State University, authors of textbooks, most of them have Ph. D. degrees. They all have rich experience in teaching foreign students of all nationalities.

The Center offers teacher-training courses in Kitaigorodskaya Method. The standard teacher training program includes lectures, seminars, workshops, top teachers's demonstration classes as well as teaching practice.
